I guess this brush would be useful for base colours, but even then, you’ve got other brushes for that. This brush also doesn’t blend in any sense of the word, and also, like I said earlier, doesn’t have anti-aliasing so it doesn’t have that natural look. Pressure has absolutely no effect with this brush, so mouse or tablet, when you draw, pigment, opacity, and stroke size are automatically maxed out, so yeah, not really missing out on anything with this brush if you don’t have a tablet. Though my brush wasn’t really working with this one for a minute…uhhh…anyway.

With that said, here’s an example of the binary tool.Īlright, so here’s an example of the binary tool. You COULD consider this as blending in a sense, however, you don’t want to rely on anti-aliasing for blending, it will never be enough to give a good effect and look of blending. That is anti-aliasing, it’s there to give the strokes more of a natural look.

Anyway, if you notice the edges of the strokes, where the colour becomes less solid and just sort of fades out into the background. Ok, so here’s an example of anti-aliasing, this example was done with pen brush, all brushes in SAI, except the Binary of course, even the Select brushes, have anti-aliasing, this was just the best one to choose to show.

Now, anti-aliasing is something that most of the brushes in SAI have…uhhh, here, I’ll show you a picture of it, it’s infinitely easier then trying to explain it. Ok, first off with this brush, is that it doesn’t have any anti-aliasing. Today, I’ll be going over a very specific tool, this is the Binary brush…I can’t understand why it has this name, it’s not like the brush, brushes in binary numbers, because it doesn’t…anyway.
